Cells at War: Cell Casters

Cell Casters was created for the Cells at War project and developed in collaboration with George Brown College and McMaster University. The game is a turn-based multiplayer RPG playable by up to five people, with each player taking the role of a different organelle in a human beta cell.

The story follows five organelles fighting against glucose spikes in the body of grade 10 student Victor Navarro. The organelles produce insulin to break down blood sugar, giving Victor the energy he needs to deal with the challenges of everyday life.

I was Narrative Designer for Cell Casters, creating the characters and writing dialogue. Additionally, I designed the turn-based combat system and the levels, balancing gameplay and narrative with educational content to ensure the game provided an engaging and educational experience. A playable version is currently in development.
